Mineral Processing Quad Rolls
Quad Roll Crushers incorporate a Double Roll Crusher over a Double Roll Crusher to form a crusher capable of two stages of reduction in one pass. The primary stage rolls can accept medium to large lump sizes, crushing to a 4:1 ratio then dropping the crushed product to the secondary stage double roll below for further reduction at a 4:1 ratio. McLanahan Two-Stage Crushers are designed with similar mechanical features and perform with the same operating principals as the Single and Double Roll Crushers. These crushers perform extremely well in coal and salt applications where high throughput of a cubicle product is valued.
Following are a few important design features of our Quad Roll Crushers:
- Base frames manufactured using heavy duty fabricated steel construction to deter frame deformity and allow for pro-longed bearing, gear and shaft life.
- Hoppers lined with renewable wear plates to increase life and durability of the frame.
- Heavy duty bearings and seals for smooth operation and to prevent dust contamination.
- Automatic spring-and-toggle tramp protection allows primary and secondary stage movable rolls to open to pass uncrushable material, preventing damage to roll assemblies. Primary and secondary stage movable rolls then return to their original position for continued production.
- Hydraulic product setting adjustment on both stages via hydraulic cylinder and hand pump.

- Super Quad Roll Crusher
The Super Quad Roll Crusher is the most heavy-duty McLanahan quad roll design. This model is designed for high capacity ROM coal applications, capable of throughput of up to 4,500 TPH. Special roll shaft assembly designs provide desired product sizing and long lasting wear life. Available in dual or four motor drives.
- Medium Duty Quad Roll Crusher
The Medium Duty Quad Roll Crusher performs two-stage size reduction on harder coals containing medium hard shales and slates, salt, potash and other minerals of equal crushability. Not to be used for hard rock and other refuse.
- Standard Duty
 Quad Roll Crusher
The Standard Duty Quad Roll Crusher is the lightest of the quad roll line and performs economical two-stage reduction of clean coal, salt, limes and other materials of similar crushability. The crusher is powered by a single motor drive, providing rotation to the other two rolls through a gear and pinion and interstage V-belts.
- Abrasive Material Quad Roll Crusher
The Abrasive Material Quad Roll Crusher performs two-stage size reduction on hot, abrasive feeds such as sintered iron ore and coke. This crusher is similar in design duty to the Standard Duty Quad Roll Crusher with a number of features included to limit wear caused by abrasive material and to simplify maintenance.
