Comprised of McLanahan’s proven triple-shaft Horizontal Screen and designed with an accompanying structure, the UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screen features an unrestricted full-access platform with configurable stairway to fit into any new or existing site with ease. The latest in McLanahan’s Ultra line of compact, modular plants, the UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screen is pre-engineered for rapid delivery. It is also pre-plumbed and requires minimal wiring for quick setup on site. The UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screen is available as a 6’x20’, 7’x20’ or 8’x20’ three-deck unit and can be configured for both wet and dry applications.
The McLanahan UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screen is an aggressive screening solution, providing high efficiency even in the toughest of applications. These triple-shaft units create an oval stroke vibration that moves material down the length of the screen. Material that is larger than the screen openings is discharged at the opposite end of the screen, while material that is smaller than the screen openings drops down onto the decks below. The stroke angle, combined with high g-forces, allows McLanahan modular Horizontal Screens to nearly eliminate the risk of material plugging or blinding the screen openings, maximizing productivity. Producers can easily adjust the stroke, speed and amplitude of the screen to fine-tune it to their application or to meet changing feed conditions for the ultimate in flexibility.
For dry applications, the UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screen features an open bottom to discharge the fines product onto a collecting conveyor. For wet applications, the screen features pre-plumbed spray bars over the top deck to rinse the material, as well as an underpan flume to carry the fines material to the next stage in the washing process.
McLanahan designed the UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screen to be a robust and reliable screening solution engineered with a configurable structure that can fit into new and existing footprints. This means producers can enjoy McLanahan’s highly efficient, long-lasting screen without having to source a separate structure.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the modular Horizontal Screen can be configured a number of ways to meet site requirements. In addition to wet and dry screen offerings, the UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screen features a rollaway discharge chute as standard. The rollaway discharge chute is an option that provides ease of maintenance and greater access to the screen decks if panels need to be replaced. Service personnel simply roll back the discharge chute from the discharge end of the screen, lower the working platform and secure it in place.
Flop gates within the discharge chute allow operators to regulate the amount of material that bypasses, essentially blending the material with material from an upper deck before it even hits the discharge conveyor.
McLanahan UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screens ship without the screen media to provide more versatility should product requirements change. Producers can choose the best screen media for their application. Wire mesh media offers more open area but shorter wear life. It is a cost-effective option that is easy to replace. Rubber screen panels are ideal for more abrasive materials and have a longer wear life, but they have less open area and cost more than wire mesh. Polyurethane media is also good for abrasive materials as well as materials that are wet. They are more durable than wire mesh and have a longer wear life, but less open area reduces throughput.
The McLanahan UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screen is pre-engineered for fast delivery and requires minimal wiring to get operational. Sites can be operational within a week upon delivery, which is much quicker than the three to four weeks it can take to erect a separate structure, place and wire the screen, and connect any water hookups.
The speed, stroke and angle of the McLanahan UltraSCREEN Horizontal Screen can all be adjusted to meet changing feed requirements due to the triple-shaft vibratory mechanism. For example, if needing to scalp coarse material, opt for a longer, more horizontal stroke. If finer separation is required, changing to a shorter, more vertical stroke will allow fine particles more opportunity to pass through the screening openings.
