McLanahan Expands Agricultural Systems Offerings With New Slope Screen

Hollidaysburg, Pa., Oct. 19, 2026 — McLanahan Corporation is expanding its Agricultural Systems product line with the introduction of the McLanahan Slope Screen, a static liquid-solid separation solution designed to provide high-capacity processing of dilute manure streams with minimal maintenance requirements.

The addition of the Slope Screen further strengthens McLanahan's ability to provide complete manure management and separation systems tailored to individual operation needs. With both Rotary Drum Separators and Slope Screens available, McLanahan is the only manufacturer offering producers multiple primary manure separation technologies as part of a comprehensive agricultural system solution. Producers can select the separation technology that best fits their manure characteristics, capacity requirements and operational goals while relying on a single partner for the entire manure management system.

Designed for sand-bedded dairies or manure solids dairies, the Slope Screen provides efficient separation through a simple, gravity-driven process. Similar to a rotary drum separator but capable of handling higher process rates, the Slope Screen separates solids from liquid streams without moving parts, helping producers reduce maintenance demands and operating costs.

Dilute manure is pumped to the top of the Slope Screen and distributed across wedge wire screen media. As the material flows down the screen surface, liquid passes through the screen openings and exits the unit while solids are retained on the screen and collected for further handling. The recovered solids are typically dripping in consistency and can be further processed with a Roll Press to create a stackable material.

Constructed with a stainless-steel tub, feed box and modular wedge wire screen panels, the Slope Screen is engineered for durability and ease of maintenance. The screen panels can be pivoted upward to provide access to both sides of the screen media, allowing operators to clean buildup more effectively and simplifying panel replacement when needed. Secure T-handle locking mechanisms help improve safety while reducing maintenance time.

The McLanahan Slope Screen can be used as a primary separator in manure management systems or as a tertiary separator in sand recovery systems. Flexible installation options allow the unit to be incorporated into both new and existing operations, including facilities currently utilizing rotary drum separators. Multiple screens can also be installed in side-by-side or V-shaped configurations to accommodate increased flow rates. The first model of Slope Screen available from McLanahan measures 8’ wide by 11’ long with more configurations to come.

"With the introduction of the Slope Screen, we're giving producers another option for liquid-solid separation while continuing to offer complete manure management systems from a single source," said Renee Schrift, Director of Global Sales – Agricultural Systems. "Every operation is different, and having both Rotary Drum Separators and Slope Screens in our portfolio allows us to configure the right solution for each customer's unique requirements."

McLanahan Slope Screens can be integrated with other equipment in McLanahan's Agricultural Systems product line, including Rotary Drum Separators, pumps and complete manure management systems, creating a customized solution designed to maximize operational
